What it does
Spaces with every capacity
Each room and part of the grounds with a capacity for every layout (ceremony, round tables, long tables, cabaret, standing, theatre, boardroom), its size, ceiling, step-free access, season, photos, floor plan and price lines.
A diary that never double-books
Every space free, held, booked or closed, for the whole day or part of it. Visitors check a date and see the calendar, never names. Two holds or bookings of the same date can never both be made.
Several dates in one enquiry
A run of days (Fri 12 – Sun 14 June) or separate dates, each with its own part of the day. They’re checked, held, booked and released together, or not at all, and the estimate covers every date.
From enquiry to booked
A stepped enquiry form with a live summary and an estimate from your price guide. Each enquiry gets a reference and its own page, and moves New → Contacted → Viewing → Proposal sent → Held → Booked, with the diary following.
Holds, diary feeds and deposits (Pro)
The form holds a free date for the days you choose, with reminders and release when it runs out. Read in the diary you already keep, work from the enquiry board and take a deposit that turns the hold into a booking.
Three designs and real photos
Estate, Loft and Garden, each with seven colour palettes, and sample photos from Pexels with the photographers credited.
Who it’s for
Wedding venues
Country houses, barns and gardens taking one wedding a day: spaces licensed for ceremonies, a price guide by season and kind of day, viewings and open days, and a brochure people get by email.
Event and party spaces
Hire the whole venue or each room on its own, for the whole day or the morning, afternoon or evening, with packages, a filtered gallery and the suppliers who know you.
Meeting and conference venues
Theatre, cabaret and boardroom capacities for every room, and on Pro the diary you already keep in Google Calendar or Outlook read in, so the website never offers a busy date.
What you’d otherwise put together
A site like this usually means choosing several products from different makers and getting them to work together. A kit is one thing, made to fit.
Putting it together yourself
- A premium theme
- An availability calendar plugin with held and booked dates
- A CRM or spreadsheet to follow each enquiry through to booked
- A booking plugin for viewings
- A deposits or payments add-on
- Setting it all up and keeping it working together after every update
One kit: Gradespace Venue
- Website, design and features designed and built together
- One licence, paid once
- One setup wizard that adds the pages, menu and sample content
- Updates for the plugin and theme tested together
Ready-made staff roles come with every tier; choosing exactly what each role can do needs Pro or Agency.

How updates, your licence, your data and help work, now and later.
How updates work
Updates come straight from thegradespace.com, over a secure connection with time-limited download links for your licensed site. They install with one click from the WordPress Updates screen, like any other plugin. We test each release against the current version of WordPress before it goes out, and every release says which WordPress version it’s tested up to.
What “lifetime licence” means
You pay once. The licence lasts for life and every future update is included: there are no renewals or subscriptions. If our server can’t be reached, your site carries on as it is.
Your data stays on your website
Bookings, records, messages and content are kept in your own WordPress database, on your own hosting. There is no Gradespace cloud. Our server only sees your licence key and website address, when your site checks its licence and updates.
Help when you need it
Every kit comes with a step-by-step getting-started guide and a printable guide for your staff. For anything else, write to us and we’ll help.

Questions
- Can two couples get the same date?
- No. Every hold and booking is made under one lock and the database refuses a second one for the same space, date and part of the day. If two people ask for the same free date at the same moment, one gets it and the other is told straight away that it has just gone, and offered the waiting list. Visitors only ever see free, held or booked, never names.
- Can people ask about a weekend or several dates?
- Yes. In one enquiry people can ask for a run of days, such as Friday to Sunday, or separate dates, each with its own part of the day: up to seven to start with, set under Settings → Your venue (1 turns it off). The dates are held, booked, extended and released together, or not at all, and a hold on several dates has one end. The estimate covers every date.
- How do provisional holds work?
- On Pro, the enquiry form holds a free date straight away for the days you choose (14 to start with, ending at 5pm on the last day). The couple is reminded before it ends, can extend it once or let it go from their own page, and the website releases it by itself when it runs out, telling them and you, with anyone on the waiting list. Without Pro you hold dates by hand and they stay held until you release them.
- Can it use the diary we already keep?
- Yes, on Pro. Paste the iCal address of your Google Calendar, Outlook or booking system under Settings → Diary feeds and every event in it marks those dates busy on the website. It’s read every hour (or as often as you choose) and never changed. The same tab gives you a private address to add the website’s holds and bookings to your own calendar.
- Is it a one-off payment?
- Yes. You pay once, the licence lasts for life and every future update is included. There are no renewals or subscriptions.
- What do I need to run it?
- A WordPress website (6.8 or later, PHP 8.0 or later) on any ordinary host. You install the free Gradespace Core plugin, the kit’s plugin and its theme, then the setup wizard walks you through the rest.
- What counts as a website?
- One licence covers one live website (Agency covers 5). Local and staging copies (localhost, .local, .test, staging.… and dev.… addresses) are free and never use up your licence.
- Can you install it for me?
- Yes. Done-for-you installation is from £99: we install Gradespace Core, the kit and its theme on your hosting, activate your licence, run the setup wizard with your details and hand it over with a short walkthrough. Complete setup and customisation, from £299, adds your content, bookings, forms and emails, small design tweaks, redirects from your old site, a staff training session and 30 days of help after launch. The price depends on your hosting and the size of the site, and is agreed before we start. Prices include VAT where it applies, and the kit licence is bought separately. Ask for a quote on our contact page.
- Can I change the design later?
- Yes. Choose a different design and colour palette in Site Settings → Design & colours at any time; your content stays as it is. You can preview a choice privately before visitors see it.
- How do updates work?
- Updates come from thegradespace.com and install with one click from the WordPress Updates screen. Each release is tested against the current version of WordPress first, and says which version it’s tested up to.
- Can I upgrade later?
- Yes. Move from Starter to Pro or Agency by paying the difference, from your licences page or from the kit’s Licence tab in WordPress. Your key stays the same.
- Refunds
- 14-day money-back: if the kit isn't right for you, ask within 14 days of buying for a full refund (the licence is then switched off).
