How updates, your licence, your data and help work, now and later.
How updates work
Updates come straight from thegradespace.com, over a secure connection with time-limited download links for your licensed site. They install with one click from the WordPress Updates screen, like any other plugin. We test each release against the current version of WordPress before it goes out, and every release says which WordPress version it’s tested up to.
What “lifetime licence” means
You pay once. The licence lasts for life and every future update is included: there are no renewals or subscriptions. If our server can’t be reached, your site carries on as it is.
Your data stays on your website
Bookings, records, messages and content are kept in your own WordPress database, on your own hosting. There is no Gradespace cloud. Our server only sees your licence key and website address, when your site checks its licence and updates.

Questions
- Is it really a one-off payment?
- Yes. You pay once and the licence lasts for life, with every future update included. There are no renewals or subscriptions.
- What counts as a website?
- One licence covers one live website (Agency covers 5). Local and staging copies don't count: localhost, .local, .test and .localhost addresses, and staging.… or dev.… sub-domains are free to use.
- How do updates work?
- Updates come from thegradespace.com and install with one click from the WordPress Updates screen. Each release is tested against the current version of WordPress first, and says which version it’s tested up to.
- Where is my data kept?
- In your own WordPress database, on your own hosting. There is no Gradespace cloud: our server only sees your licence key and website address, when your site checks its licence and updates.
- Can I move my licence to a new website?
- Yes. Remove the old site on your licences page (or deactivate the licence in WordPress) and activate it on the new one.
- Can I upgrade later?
- Yes. Upgrade from Starter to Pro, or to Agency, by paying the difference. Your key stays the same.
- I need more websites than my licence covers.
- Buy another licence for each extra website, or choose Agency for several sites on one key.
- Does the price include VAT?
- Yes. Prices include VAT where it applies, so a UK buyer pays the price shown. VAT is worked out at checkout from your billing address; a business can add its VAT number there, and the receipt shows the VAT.
- Refunds
- 14-day money-back: if a kit isn't right for you, ask within 14 days of buying and we'll refund you in full, and the licence is then switched off. An upgrade can be refunded the same way within 14 days, and your licence goes back to its previous tier. After 14 days purchases are final, because you keep the licence and its lifetime updates.
