Running your website
Trying it
Chatting with the assistant in your dashboard as visitors would, seeing which passages were sent with each question, and fixing answers that are wrong or missing.
On this page
October 2026.
Before visitors see the assistant, and whenever you change something, try it yourself.
- Go to your business menu → Assistant → Try it.
- Ask the questions your customers ask, in their words. Tap a suggested question, or type one and press Enter (or the send button).
The chat on this screen is exactly what visitors get, and it works even while the assistant is switched off on the website. Answers here count towards this month's spending, but they're never kept.
Seeing where an answer came from
Under each answer:
- From: lists the pages the answer used, as visitors see it.
- Sent with this question: (click to open) lists every passage that was sent to the AI with your question, best match first, with its page. Your business details and notes are always sent too, so they aren't listed.
When an answer is wrong or missing
- It says it doesn't know, but the answer is on a page. Open Sent with this question. If that page isn't there, the page probably uses different words from the question. Add a note or Q&A with the question in your customers' words.
- It gives an old price or time. Change the page, or add a note with the new one (notes win over pages), then ask again.
- It answers from the wrong page. Add a note with the right answer.
- You want it to always mention something. Add it to Extra rules under Settings → Assistant.
Click Start again at the top of the chat to clear it and ask afresh.
On the website
Once it's switched on, visitors see a round chat button in your brand colour at the bottom right of every page, with a sparkle ✦ (or a speech bubble, if you chose it). On a computer, the chat opens in a panel just above the button, which then shows a cross; on a phone, it fills the screen. At the top are your logo, your business name, Start again (the round arrow) and Close (the cross). Before anything is asked, it shows your greeting and suggested questions.
Visitors can:
- tap a suggested question or type their own in the box at the bottom ("Ask a question…") and press Enter or the round Send button, which turns from grey to your brand colour once there's something to send;
- with photos switched on, tap + to add up to two photos, then send them with or without a question;
- tap the links under an answer to read the page;
- tap Book online, Message us on WhatsApp or Contact us;
- start again with the round arrow at the top;
- close it with the cross or the Esc key. The chat is still there if they open it again on another page, until they close the browser tab (photos they sent then show as "(photo)").
You can try photos in Try it too, once they're switched on.
Under the box, it always says: AI can make mistakes — check prices and times when you book.
On a phone, the cookie banner shown on someone's first visit covers the chat button until they've answered it.
