Running your website

What it knows, and teaching it

Where the assistant's answers come from: your pages and posts, your business details and your own notes and Q&A; adding, changing and deleting notes; and Rebuild now.

On this page

October 2026.

The assistant only answers from what it has been given. It doesn't look things up on the internet. If something isn't in what it knows, it says so and offers your hand-over buttons.

Where its answers come from

  • Your published pages and posts. The words on them, without menus, the header, the footer, forms or anything hidden. Drafts, private and password-protected pages, and your privacy policy page are left out.
  • Your business details, from Settings → Business and Contact: your name, address, phone numbers, email, WhatsApp and opening hours (with any closures coming up). These go with every question.
  • Your notes and questions and answers. Written by you under Assistant → Notes and Q&A. These go with every question too, and they win if a page says something different.
  • Your kit's own information, if your kit adds some (for example a salon's services with their prices and times).

Long pages are split into short passages. For each question, the assistant picks the passages that match the question's words best, and sends only those with the question. That keeps answers quick and costs low.

Seeing what it knows

Go to your business menu → Assistant → What it knows. You'll see:

  • Always included: your business details exactly as they're sent, and how many notes and answers you've written.
  • Pages, posts and more: every page and post it has read, with how many passages each became. Click a title to open the page.

It updates by itself about a minute after you publish, change or delete a page. Update waiting means a change is about to be picked up. To update it straight away, click Rebuild now.

If a page isn't listed, check it's published and has no password.

Teaching it: notes and Q&A

Notes are the quickest way to improve its answers. Use them for:

  • things your website doesn't say: "Is there parking?", "Do you take card?", "Can I bring my dog?";
  • things it gets wrong or explains badly;
  • changes that haven't reached your pages yet: "From November the price of a cut is £35".

To add one:

  1. Go to Assistant → Notes and Q&A.
  2. Choose A question and its answer, or A note for anything that isn't a question.
  3. Type the question (or, for a note, a short label) and the answer.
  4. Click Add.

It uses it from the very next question; there's nothing to rebuild.

To change one, click Change beside it, edit it and click Save changes. To remove one, click Delete and confirm.

Writing good notes

  • Write the answer as you'd say it to a customer, with the facts in it: "Yes: free parking for two hours behind the shop, entrance on Mill Lane."
  • One subject per note, so it's easy to change later.
  • Put prices and times in exactly. The assistant won't guess them, so if they're not written down anywhere, it will say it doesn't know.
  • Don't put anything private in a note. Notes are sent to the AI with every question.

Keeping it right

When you change a price or your opening hours, change them on your pages or in Settings as usual; the assistant follows. If you keep conversations (see Privacy), read them now and then under Assistant → Conversations to see what people ask, and add a note wherever an answer could be better.
