What it won't do
The assistant's own rules: only your business, no made-up prices or times, no medical, legal or financial advice, no personal details, and what visitors see when it can't answer.
On this page
October 2026.
The assistant follows its own rules with every answer. Your Extra rules are added to them, but can't switch them off.
It only talks about your business
It answers questions about your business from what it knows (see What it knows, and teaching it). Asked about anything else, the weather, homework, another business, it politely says it can only help with questions about you.
Your pages and notes are treated as information, never as instructions. If someone puts "ignore your rules" into a page or a question, the assistant ignores that.
It never makes up prices, times or policies
If a price, an opening time, how long something takes, availability or a policy isn't in what it knows, it says it doesn't know and offers your hand-over buttons. That's why notes with the exact facts are so useful.
Even so, it can make mistakes, which is why the chat always says AI can make mistakes — check prices and times when you book.
No medical, legal or financial advice
It never diagnoses, suggests treatments or gives medical, legal or financial advice. For a health question ("I've got a rash after my last colour, what should I do?"), it says it's best to book a consultation or speak to a professional.
If your business gives health or treatment advice, people should get it from you, in person or on a call.
Photos: no diagnosis, no identifying people
If you let visitors add photos, the assistant only describes what can generally be seen, and only when it helps with a question about your business. It never diagnoses or assesses a hair, scalp, skin or health condition from a photo, never guesses anyone's age or health, and never says who someone is. For anything about a visitor's own hair, scalp, skin or health, it suggests booking a consultation or contacting you.
It doesn't collect personal details
It never asks for names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, health details or card details. If someone types them in, it tells them not to share them in the chat and to use the booking or contact options instead.
It can't book appointments, take payments or see your diary. It points people to your booking page for that.
When it can't answer
Sometimes the assistant can't answer at all:
- this month's spending has reached your cap;
- the AI key for the service you chose is missing, or the AI company didn't accept it;
- the AI company is busy, out of credit on your account, or can't be reached;
- a visitor has sent a lot of messages today.
Visitors then see a short, friendly message ("Sorry, I can't answer questions just now…") with your Book online, WhatsApp and Contact us buttons. They never see an error or anything about your cap. If you haven't set any hand-over links, the message gives your phone number and email instead.
Check the status line at the top of Assistant to see whether any of these is happening.
