Gradespace Events: the manual

What the Events kit does for an event brand, promoter or DJ, what Starter and Pro include, and every chapter of this manual in reading order.

On this page

Gradespace Events is the website kit for event brands, promoters and DJs: club nights, day parties, festivals and community events. It gives your website:

  • Your events, each with a page: when and where, the line-up, an age limit, a countdown and add-to-calendar.
  • Tickets sold on your own website, paid into your own account. Early bird and other ticket types, sales that open and close on their own, promo codes, "4 for the price of 3" deals and an optional booking fee. Gradespace takes nothing from your ticket sales.
  • A QR code on every ticket, by email and on the buyer's own page. Buyers can give a ticket to a friend, and you can refund one ticket or a whole order.
  • The door on a phone: scan tickets, type a ticket number, or find a guest by name. A ticket can only get in once, even with two doors, and the door keeps working on bad signal.
  • My tickets: buyers sign in with a link sent to their email (no password) to see their tickets.
  • DJ bookings: a "Book us" form, a list you work through, and a deposit link that books the date once it's paid.
  • The crew and your albums, laid out to fit how many there are, so a page never looks half empty.
  • Points (Pro) for spending, coming and sharing, swapped for rewards at the bar or the door.
  • Reps (Pro) who sell your tickets with their own link and earn commission.

The demo website at events.gskits.co.uk is a sample event brand. The pictures in this manual come from it.

The three parts

A Gradespace kit comes in three parts, installed in this order:

  1. Gradespace Core (free): the back office. Settings in plain words, the Today screen, staff accounts, emails, payments, the setup wizard, your licence and updates.
  2. The Gradespace Events plugin: everything in the list above. (A plugin is an add-on for WordPress.)
  3. The Gradespace Events theme: the look of the website, with four designs (Club, Day Party, Culture and Festival) and their colour palettes.

One licence covers the plugin and its theme.
