Running your website

The door

Checking tickets in on a phone: scanning, typing a ticket number, finding a guest by name, what each answer means, bad signal, two doors, undo and selling at the door.

On this page

Door staff open Events → Door on their phone (or go to your website's address followed by /?gsev_door=1) and sign in. Give them the Door staff role under Staff access: then the door is all they see.

The door shows events from a few hours before they start (Settings → Door). With two events on, choose tonight's.

The door page on a phone before the door opens: “No event’s door is open right now. It opens a few hours before the start.”

Checking a ticket in

Use whichever is quickest for each guest:

  • Scan the QR code with the phone's camera.
  • Type the ticket number printed under the QR code (like ZCQC-Q7ZN-3XF5), when a phone screen won't scan.
  • Find a name on the list, then tap Let in.

The answer fills the screen:

AnswerMeans
Let in (green)A valid ticket for tonight. It's now checked in.
Already inThis ticket was used, with the time, which door and who let it in. Ask for photo ID.
Wrong eventA real ticket, for another night (it says which).
Not validRefunded, or given to someone else (their new code works, not this one).
Not paidSomeone started buying and didn't finish.
Not a ticketNot one of your tickets, or a code that's been made up.

The count at the top shows how many are in. Undo (for 15 seconds) puts back a ticket let in by mistake.

Two doors and bad signal

Each phone can be a different door. A ticket can only get in once, even scanned at two doors at the same moment.

When the signal drops, the door keeps working: it checks tickets against the list kept on the phone and shows how many check-ins are waiting to send. When the signal is back they're sent with the time they really happened. If the same ticket got in at two offline doors, the first stands and the door says so.

Selling at the door

Sell at the door: choose the ticket type and how many, add a name (and an email if they'd like their tickets), and press Paid: let them in. The sale is recorded as paid in person and they're checked in straight away.
