Work down this list in order. Each step links to the chapter with the full instructions.
- Buy the kit and get your licence key. See Buying and your licence.
- Install Gradespace Core, the Events plugin and the Events theme, in that order. See Installing.
- Run the setup wizard. It asks for your business details, the kinds of event you put on, your booking fee (if any), the door and DJ bookings, and can add the starter pages and menu. See The Events setup wizard.
- Connect payments. Go to Events → Settings → Payments and connect your Stripe account (or WooCommerce). Ticket money goes straight to your account. See How buying works, and connecting payments.
- Choose your design and colours under Site Settings → Design & colours, and add your logo. See Designs, pages and menus.
- Add your first event under Events → Events → Add event: the date, times, venue and line-up. See Events and ticket types.
- Add its ticket types with Tickets and sales on the event: for example Early bird £5 (sales close a week before), Standard £10 with 4 for the price of 3.
- Buy a ticket yourself with a real card for a cheap ticket type, then refund it from Events → Orders. This checks your payments from start to finish.
- Give your door staff accounts with the Door staff role (Staff access), and open Events → Door on a phone before the night. See The door.
- Pro: add your ways to earn and rewards under Events → Points, and open rep applications. See Points and rewards and Reps.
